Eric Godfrey fell in love with music in the mid seventies with the Elvis Presley and Doo-Wop influences of his mother, combined that with the Rock and Roll and Pop influences of his older sister. With Mom driving in the family car, Eric began DJ’ing before he had a driver’s license. His first wedding for a family friend was in 1979 at age 13 and he was doing it professionally when he turned 16 in 1982. Working with Mom and Dad’s oldies and Ktel collections and the diversity of his 1^st record club membership (1/2 Kiss and ½ Barry Manilow -give him a break it was the 70's) a lifetime of DJ work began.

Eric’s devotion and drive to the best in quality and customer service has developed though a rich background of education, military service, experience, and commitment to helping others.

Eric graduated from Villanova University in 1988 with a Bachelor of Arts in Radio and TV Programming, Bachelor of Science in Naval Science and a minor in Computer Science.. He served 6 years as an officer in the US Navy serving all over the world. This allowed him to DJ weddings in 11 different countries and 4 different continents for his fellow service members. After the military, Eric continued his part time DJ career while achieving numerous computer and software certifications. He left his career as an IT Director to pursue building Starz Entertainment full time in February of 2003. In four years since going full time Starz has become one of the most respected DJ companies in Arizona winning 12 separate awards for quality services over the last 4 years.

Starz Entertainment is a tight knit family of individuals who share in Eric’s vision of constantly improving and delivering the best service at the most affordable price to all of it’s customers. In his efforts to improve the overall DJ industry, Eric has served as a National Director with the National Association of Mobile Entertainers (NAME), as a President and Executive Board Member for several years with the Phoenix chapter of the American DJ Association in Phoenix (ADJA) and after years of trying to improve legal issues in the Karaoke industry he is the President of the US Karaoke Alliance and serves on the advisory board of KIAA (Karaoke Industry Alliance of America). As Senior West Coast Instructor for the FAME DJ School, he has used their curriculum as a baseline in building the training program at Starz into one of the best in the industry. Eric is published regularly in Mobile Beat Magazine & The National Entertainer and speaks regularly at National DJ Meetings.
