John's Entertaining Biography

 John was born in Detroit Michigan or Motown and grew up listening to all the great Motown bands of the 60’s and 70’s; with his favorite being the Jackson 5.  He got his first record at the age of 3.  Hallelujah Days by the Jackson 5.  It was at that moment John knew that he would one day be working in the music industry, somehow, some way. 

 By the age of 8, John had acquired all of his parent’s records and albums.  This introduced him to jazz greats like Dave Brubeck and Miles Davis, in addition to rock classics like Elvis and Bill Haley.  By the time John hit his teens he had approximately 2000 albums and 1500 records.  (That’s roughly 3000 CD’s for those of you that don’t remember albums)  He quickly became known as the kid with all the music.  By the time John finished High School he had been DJ'ing private parties on a regular basis.  And started doing paying gigs at age 18 to pay his way through college. 

 After college, John felt the call to serve his country and enlisted in the United States Army, where he served a total of 8 years in the Military Police Corp.  While serving, John continued to DJ on military bases and all over the world, and eventually ended up in Arizona. 

John worked for many years in the “business world” climbing the corporate ladder.  But he always longed for the weekend gigs, where he felt most at ease.  He began working part-time for Starz Entertainment in 1998 and after years of pressure from Eric Godfrey, Starz Business Manager, John was able to leave the Corporate Rat race behind and focus all of him time and efforts on his passion: music.   

In 2005 John was promoted to the General Manager of Starz Entertainment and along side his good friend Eric, has helped to make Starz the award winning company it is today. 

 John truly is a do it all kind of guy, singing, dancing and coordination events and staff.  John DJ’ed his first event over 20 years ago and has the experience and skills to make any event a success.  Whether it is a classy formal event or a wild and crazy party: John has the multiple personalities to make your day special.
