Terra Klein/Tobin  - I LOVED John.  I honestly do not believe I could have been any happier with any other DJ.  It was funny because a lot of my friends and family talked smack to me in the beginning because I paid so much money to go with Starz.  I was told by several other people that they could find me a DJ for a lot  cheaper.  After the wedding every single one of the same friends and family that talked smack in the beginning ranted and raved about how great John was.  He was so much fun!!  We had a pretty rowdy crowd and his personality fit in perfect!!!  Of course you can use me as a reference!!  Thank you again John and congrats on your beautiful baby!!!   Terra Klein/Tobin

Lindsay Dent - All of our guests were extremely impressed with John! We left a lot of the music choices up to him and he did great. Everything ran smoothly and was on time. But most of all everyone had a great time and could not stop dancing!! His service was always fun and professional.    

Julie Thorpe - Joe was a fantastic DJ in many ways, but the best things that he did were provide great dinner music (which is an aspect that he and i did not talk about ahead of time). The music that he played set a perfect atmosphere for the kind of vibe we were going for. Then later in the night some guests wanted to change the type of music being played to dance some more. Joe was very respectful of my wishes and waited until I could give him the ok to play those songs. Then when he did, our back patio turned into the most fun dance party!!! He was extremely professional, pleasant, and skilled as a DJ. He played fun intro music for our speeches (another aspect that we did not discuss ahead of time but was really FUN). I not only would recommend him again to anyone using a DJ, I also would INSIST on using him specifically if I ever had another event like this!!! Fabulous job!!!!

There is no way that I would ever consider using another DJ over Joe Martin at Starz Entertainment. He was professional, pleasant, and added a lot of fun to my wedding. He improvised some very fun aspects of the night, and played the perfect music for every part of our wedding reception. Starz was really on the ball. They almost constantly sent e-mail and phone call reminders with the information that I needed for our wedding, which really helps out in a stressful situation like wedding planning.

Ashley and Kevin - James made our wedding truly unforgettable!  The dance floor was packed the entire night!!  He was absolutely AMAZING - without a doubt, the best DJ around!  Everything was perfect, and I couldn't have been happier!  He really set a great tone for the evening!!  I appreciated all the time he took to personalize everything and to offer suggestions.  We had SOO many friends and family come up to both Kevin and I after the wedding and ask us who he was because they loved him! Even before Kevin and I entered the room for our Grand Entrance we could hear everyone laughing and cheering - it was great to know that we could trust his expertise.  I would recommend him to anyone - for any occasion!

Nichole Freemon - EVERYTHING!  John was fantastic!  I never worried about anything during my whole ceremony of wedding, and when I started to John was already on top of it.  He turned what could have been a logistical nightmare for me and my new husband into one of the most enjoyable nights of our lives.  We have not stopped getting compliments from our guests on the fun entertaining wedding we put on.  We owe it all to John!

Was there anything that you were particularly pleased with? James made us feel so comfortable and relaxed.  He kept the evening moving so well, and reminded us that the day was for us!!
Was there anything that we should do differently in the future? Advertise more, so more couples can have the experience that we had.
Do you have any complaints about our services: The only complaint we had was that the evening ended to soon, James tried to extend the time, but the venue needed the music off at 11:00 pm.  My now husband and I met with James in an informational meeting.  After James explained to us what he does and the philosophy of Starz Entertainment, we booked immediately.  Of all of the vendors (including where we held both our ceremony and reception), Starz was the only group that contacted us regularly to make sure we were doing well with planning and to offer any assistance to us.  They called and emailed more frequently as the date approached.  We could not have been any happier with our DJ and his service.  We have been to many weddings where there was no coordination and the music was not appropriate for all of the guests.  We had guests from 5 weeks old into the 90's and everyone enjoyed the music and the activities.  We felt like we had an absolutely amazing wedding.  James made us feel like he cared about us and how the event turned out.  Johna and Matthew Spigel

Velia Daniels - Our wedding was wonderful.  From beginning to end, the entire staff was a tremendous help.  The day of the wedding, John arrived early and had everything set up.  All of the music we requested was played when we wanted it played.  Our officiant forgot about the unity candle during the ceremony, but John played that song during our reception without us asking.  Everyone had a GREAT time and we had so many comments about how everyone absolutely LOVED the d.j..........especially when he taught everyone the wild wild west dance.  Great job John and everyone at Starz Entertainment.  You guys deserve every award you have won and so many more.  Velia Daniels

Kay Lawson -  My daughter Gina hired a friend of a friend to DJ her reception. The "friend" cancelled the day before the wedding. I was referred to Starz by another friend and found them on Google. Eric, the owner responded within minutes and after a few minutes on the phone we had confirmed plans. He came out to our home within hours and helped pick all music, filled out forms with the whole wedding party and before he left we had a schedule with the entire event and all song requests. The wedding was perfect! The hall was supposed to provide a microphone and did not, Eric hooked up a small sound system and provided us music in addition to microphones for the ceremony. The reception was wonderful. He took his notes from our meeting and did a very funny, and very touching love story about Mark and Gina. Jennifer and Charles Schmidt  - To Starz Entertainment and James,   To start with I can not thank James enough for the wonderful job he did at my reception.  My wedding was almost 3 weeks ago and I still am getting comments about how wonderful James was.  He was amazing and did a great job!  From the first time my husband and I sat down with James and he pulled out the time line for the reception I felt a huge sense of relief.  It is hard enough trying to plan the “perfect” day and knowing that at least one part of the day you do have to worry about is wonderful.  That is exactly how I felt after talking to James.  I knew I didn’t have to worry about the reception; he had it taken care of!   My only regret is we couldn’t afford to tip James more. 
            Another great item your company has is the internet page where I could go and request songs. Having that system was great.  I spent a lot of time on the internet page trying to find the perfect songs!  Having that system saved me a lot of time.
 I have a friend that works out at a bookstore in Surprise; she would like to get some business cards so she can pass the cards on to people who are buying wedding planning books.  This same friend went to another wedding a couple weeks after mine and stated that the DJ that was at that wedding didn’t even come close to the job James did.
            Again, I just want to thank everyone at Starz for everything.  From Monica who responded to my first email in the matter of minutes to James who provided my husband and I with the perfect reception!  Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart! Bernadette Benavidez,  Things weren't going according to our schedule as planned (because our photographer was only going to be there for a short amount of time), but Vinnie made everything go so smoothly as if it had been planned.  And at the last minute I called him right before me and Anthony arrived at the reception to ask if we could change the song for us as we were announced (We decided switching from "At Last"--Etta James to "Wild Thing"--Tone Loc!!!  It was great.)  He completely did what we asked; I was so grateful to him for making our night such a wonderful evening.  He was very professional and everyone had such a great time.

Stacy Anderson -  Initially I was hesitant about hiring a company type of entertainment service provider. I heard horror stories regarding no shows and not being able to meet with your DJ. In the beginning we had a miscommunication and were weary of your services. However, after collaborating with the "boss" we felt more at ease because our concerns were heard. The moment we met our DJ James Mennes, we did not want to let him leave. He was amazing professional, organized, and detail oriented. He kept telling us that the wedding is about us and to enjoy it without worries. He was open to our ideas and we gratefully accepted his professional decisions. There is not one thing we would change about our wedding day. Everything was smooth and we were able to enjoy every moment. There was a change in plans right before our reception entrance and James miraculously transitioned the change with grace. There were only a handful of guest that left before the end of the reception because they were having so much fun. James was able to find a great balance from timing the events to music choice. We are thrilled to have had the opportunity to know James and to have him host our reception. A thousand thank you's to him for providing us and our guests a night of fun and relaxation. I was able to remember every detail because I never worried once about James's abilities. Our guest still talk about how they wished the night lasted longer because they were having so much fun!!

Judy Jameson  Karaoke Night is a great time for our entire congregation (from our youngest toddlers to our “more seasoned” members to come together. Everyone had fun listening to the great voices and the off-key singers as well. Our “All-Sings” were particularly enjoyable for everyone! 

Kris Hughes   We had our wedding at Stonebridge Manor and Starz Entertainment was hired to do the DJ services.  Eric Godfrey was very professional all along the way.  He met with us at least 3 times prior to the wedding, 2 of those at the site to get a feel for the set up and to talk to the people there.  He came up with the schedule of the night, gave us suggestions of music, and offered many ideas we hadn't heard of before (the Teddy Bear Toss), which was very helpful since  this was the first wedding I had planned.  He also did a story montage for the bride and groom and set it to music.  It was very cute and we got some good feed back from guests on that.

The day of the wedding, he was there 1 1/2 hours before to get set up and put everything in place.  At Stonebridge, the DJ is responsible for all the sound at the wedding ceremony as well, so they play an important part in how well everything goes.  He was given a list of songs the bride and groom wanted played and he followed their requests to the "T".  It was a great night, all went well, and everyone danced a lot and had a ton of fun.  I would definitely recommend them again. 

Jonathan Smith  - Starz is very professional in terms of how they conduct the initial meetings with you and very organized in setting up your event. They have everything on their website which allows you to go in and modify all your event information without having to call them or have extra meetings. On top of that, they are efficient, courteous, and very eager to make your event go over well. You can feel confident putting them in control of everything, right down to the song list and keeping the party fun. They do a great job and we were extremely pleased with everything. If you are planning a wedding, as we were, these guys really make you feel confident about your DJ and they give you one less thing to worry about in your wedding planning. Kimberly Fisher  - I've been to wedding receptions where the music was boring, the DJ didn't have his act together and  events were timed incorrectly, and horrible songs were chosen by the DJ.  This was the best reception ever, and it was due to the music our DJ selected.  Not only did Starz Entertainment have a superb website that allowed me to choose the songs I wanted and the event planner...but our DJ was able to read the crowd to see what would get them dancing.  I never had any event go so smoothly.  I am still getting phone calls from my friends and family thanking me for such a fantastic evening!

Peter Laugen -  Great time was had by all, and DJ was very accommodating to all service and song requests. Paul was endlessly accommodating to several "last minute" type of changes, including a change in song for the bride's entrance as well as the announcement of a special cake and the tradition that was behind it.  Paul had been presented with none of this information until the hour was at hand, and did a WONDERFUL job of working with it on his feet. Music for the ceremony was flawless which was the most important thing.

 Emilee Gajewski   - Starz Entertainment, What an awesome party! Thank you guys so much for providing us with the entertainment for Bob's surprise party. He was definitely surprised and loved doing the karaoke.  Bob did a great job and everyone had a great time. He was great at getting people up and moving and dancing. He was also very good at playing whatever was requested and getting people to sing. He was also on time and set up and took down the equipment very fast. Thanks again for a great party and feel free to use me as a reference if needed.
